Lyons racers win, place and show at Mario Kart Championship

Although heated competition came from several entrants, the three siblings from the Lyons family of Beach Park took first, second and third place in the Mario Kart Zee-Bee Championship held Nov. 22 at the ZB Library.
McKenna Lyons, the eldest of the three, won the championship and the first-place prize – an iPod shuffle — by racking up 51 out of a possible 60 points in the four-race Mushroom Cup final.
McKenna’s younger brother, Evan (“Schred17″), won both his races in the semifinals like his sister and tallied 46 points in the final to place second and the prize of a 4G flash drive.
McKenna’s younger sister, 10-year-old Kyra (“StarGirl”), placed fourth in the semifinals but put the pedal to the metal in the finals to finish third with 37 points, beating out “Lightning” (Eduard Esguerra) by four points in the finals and winning a trac phone.
Also advancing to the semifinals were Christopher Streicher, Eddie Esguerra, Joe Blair and Tyrell Burke.

Mario Kart DOES rule. But what are the “better games?” Maybe we can get them here at the library. We’re always open to suggestions.
